Paydata conducts a specialist House Builders Salary Survey, covering the major house builders in the UK. This provides companies with valuable, accurate and specific external market information to inform reward decisions, much of which is not available anywhere else.

What is the House Builders Salary Survey?

Available only to participants, the building salary survey covers information regarding base pay and total cash, plus hours and main benefits.  The detailed report output is personalised, highlighting the company's market position for each survey role nationally and by geographic region.

This survey includes specialist jobs in the following areas:

  • Construction – such as a Build Manager that is responsible for the building operations for up to five or six sites or a middle management role such as a Contracts or Project Manager that oversee the land acquisition and development of small to medium-sized sites
  • Customer Services – such as a Customer Service Manager or Executive in a middle management position that reports to the Construction Director and manages customer-related issues to a resolution, or a Customer Service Operative or Engineer that is directly responsible and may also carry out maintenance and repair work
  • Site Management – such as a Site Manager in a senior or junior/assistant position that oversees all labour onsite and subcontractors and ultimately report to the Build Manager
  • Finance – such as a Financial Controller that manages several teams and will report to either a Finance Director or Managing Director, an Auditor that undertakes an assessment of operations and financial systems within the organisation or an Accountant (of various job levels) that may be responsible for preparing budgets, cashflow, forecasts and payroll
  • Land – such as anyone responsible for the land acquisition stage of the project which could be the Land Director, Land Manager or Land Buyer, as well as the Planning Manager who is responsible for planning production schedules and procedures, as well as managing a team of planning engineers
  • Sales – such as anyone that plays a role in the sales process, including answering customer queries, processing of legal work of plat sales, marketing of the site, negotiations and overseeing the transfer. Job titles include Sales Office Manager, Sale Manager, Sales Adviser, Marketing Manager, Legal Manager and Conveyancer amongst others
  • Technical – includes anyone in a role directly related to the design and engineering of the site, which can include a Technical Manager, Design Manager, Architect, Engineer, Technician and Technical Co-Ordinator
