Why we are a SME Cambridgeshire Business Awards Employer of the Year Finalist.

Being shortlisted for ‘The employer of the year’, really shows that we are true to our company’s cause of ‘making lives better at work’, not just for our customers, but for our own employees as well. We offer flexible working, encouraging part time workers to join us, salary sacrifice to build up extra day’s holiday, parental support, employee mental health support and an annual paid for weekend trip to Europe to celebrate success. Over the last year we have introduced an extensive business learning and development programme in which all staff can participate. Our L+D programme has further boosted morale and productivity.

How Does a Business Qualify as a Finalist?

The judging panel for the SME Cambridgeshire Business Awards has been developed over 15 years and the individuals chosen are all highly revered within their industry. Applications are judged by a rotation of 4 different judges from the 15-strong judging panel. Judges award scores to their own sponsored category and to ensure transparency, are given several other categories to rate. Using the information provided by the business, judges score them between 1-5 based on a set of questions and finalists are decided by the sum of the total score.

Who Qualifies for an Award?

Businesses that qualify for the SME Award are located within Cambridgeshire, with a workforce of fewer than 250 employees. Existing businesses need to have been started prior to January 2016 and new businesses commenced since January 2016.

About the Award Night

This year’s SME Cambridgeshire Business Awards takes place on the 13th June at the Newmarket Racecourse; a headline sponsor of the event, alongside Stanair Industrial Door Services Ltd. Details of the winners will be available from the Cambridge Independent on June 13th or on the Cambridgeshire Awards website from the following day.
