Working within the corporate shared service centre, the role holder will assist with a full range of activities including, Finance, Facilities Management, People Management, Health and Safety, Procurement.

About the role

The role holder will work within and contribute to the following areas:

Finance

  • Develop knowledge of Xero accounting software.
  • Accounting data entry for sales and purchase ledger.
  • Use Xero reporting to create monthly reports and review variances.
  • Setting bank BACs and bill payments ready for authorisation.
  • Assisting with credit control
  • Administer the expense system, including reconciling claims with receipts.

Facilities Management

  • Assisting in the development of a calendar to track services, repairs and renewals and booking appointments with relevant contractors, as and when needed.
  • Overseeing contractors when on site.
  • Assist in ensuring the company remains Health and Safety compliant.

General Administration

  • Administer the customer on-boarding process.
  • Assist colleagues with fulfilling purchasing needs.
  • Assist in organising company events and meetings.
  • Develop knowledge of internal policies and assist in reviewing HR policies and practice.
  • Assist with data protection and confidentiality implementation and ongoing training.
  • Participate in project meetings, including creating agendas and taking notes.
  • Using Microsoft Office to create documents, reports and presentations as required during any given activity.

Skills required

  • A good level of numeracy.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. The ability to communicate with people at all levels both internally and externally.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Organised and methodical and with an eye for detail.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

Personal qualities

The ideal candidate will display qualities that match our values of PURE:

Qualification to be undertaken: Business Administration - Level 3
Training provider: Peterborough Regional College
Expected duration: 18 month apprenticeship, leading to a possible permanent position.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (including study day release)

On successful completion of the apprenticeship, there is the opportunity for the position to become permanent.
