PAYanalyst - Salary Benchmarking Database Print E-mail

PAYanalyst is a salary benchmarking database with a difference.  The difference is that it we built it around your needs not ours!  When we started designing PAYanalyst we talked to our customers about how they benchmarked pay.  From this we developed some myths and facts of pay benchmarking that underpin our approach.

 

What’s in the PAYanalyst database?

PAYanalyst holds salary survey data for around 1,000 general industry roles organised into job families and job levels.  It holds both base pay and variable cash (e.g. bonus) data.  You may find one of our Club Surveys a better fit if you need data for specialist industry roles.

There are two parts to the PAYanalyst process.  The first is a job matching tool that minimises the amount of work you need to do.  We lead this process for you.  The second is a powerful analysis tool that produces the pay data you need from the database.


So how does PAYanalyst work?

First of all we discuss how your data is organised internally.  Do you have a grading structure, do you have standardised job titles or job/career families?  If you do then we can use this information to inform the job matching process.  If you don’t, then we can agree with you how we can use our own job matching matrix to meet your needs. 

The next step is for you to supply us with a download from your payroll/HR system.  We examine this and agree with you what we need to do to match your jobs.  You then receive a job matching report that shows what we have done.  We may agree to follow this up with a job matching meeting if there are a lot of things to discuss. 

Once we have agreed the job matching we produce your benchmarking report.  If you have your own job grading scheme or job families we will use these in your survey report.  Like our other surveys this means that all reports are personalised.  They show how your internal pay data relates to the market in a simple and easy to use format.  We update the database itself throughout the year.  You can ask for your report at a time that makes sense for your pay review process.

With the PAYanalyst salary survey your data is organised into a job families and levels.  This means that it is already in the right format for you to use our pay modelling or equal pay audit services.
