Paul Hajduk: How are you managing UK Public Holidays in 2011 and 2012? An extra day of public holiday has been announced for both 2011 and 2012. These are for the Royal Wedding and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee respectively. But are your employees entitled to these extra days holiday and how will you manage staff holiday requests? Most employees probably believe that they have a right to paid time off on public holidays. In fact, there is no statutory right to paid leave (Source: ACAS).
