According to a recent survey by People Management, 70 per cent of HR professionals believe a company car is an effective recruitment and retention tool.
Just 15 per cent of respondents felt a company car is ineffective as an incentive, and a further 15 per cent were undecided.
52 per cent of companies currently offering company cars stated work necessity as the reason, whilst 22 per cent said they were mainly provided as an employee perk.
However, just over a third (34 per cent) said they would ‘probably’ or ‘definitely’ be reducing the number of company vehicles in the next few years. Meanwhile, 55 per cent said they were not planning to widen or scale back their company car scheme, whilst 11 per cent intended to increase their offering.
