Below is a summary of the latest retail sales figures for October 2011.

Compared to September 2011:

  • The value of retail sales increased by 0.7 per cent
  • Sales volume increased by 0.6 per cent

Compared to October 2010:

  • The value of retail sales increased by 5.4 per cent
  • Sales volumes increased by 0.9 per cent

Non-seasonally adjusted year on year sales volumes:

  • Increased by 5.3 per cent in small stores; and
  • decreased 0.3 per cent in large stores
