Case Study One A client in the mechanical & electrical engineering industry has used our pay modelling services for the last few years to improve the quality of their decision-making in their annual pay review. They wanted us to particularly focus on their key service delivery roles. We initially divided jobs into career families and used these to help validate a 3rd party grading structure; we were able to recommend some adjustments to this. We then used a mix of our own specialist club survey data and some 3rd party data to develop market guidelines for each role. Using these ranges we modelled the existing employees together with performance data to show where people were relatively under or over-paid against the market. Finally we were able to create a matrix using performance and position in pay range to allow informed decisions in the pay review whilst ensuring adherence to the available budget.
